Iron Plus contains iron and vitamin C. The total amount of iron in an adult human body is between 3 and 5 grams. Its largest amounts are found in the blood, or more precisely in hemoglobin - the dye of red blood cells. It carries oxygen from the lungs to all cells in the body. The rest of the iron is contained in ferritin, hemosiderin, myoglobin and various enzymes.

Hemoglobin is the component of blood responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to all the cells of the body. Most of the iron in our system is bound to hemoglobin. In addition to this important function, iron also plays a role in the formation of ferritin, hemosiderin, myoglobin and several different enzymes.
Like many other minerals and trace elements, iron absorption is greatly enhanced when it is bound to an organic acid in a form known as “chelated” form. Iron fumarate is an example of chelated iron. Vitamin C and bioflavonoids may also help support the absorption and utilization of iron.
