The importance of antioxidants
Did you know that ... many situations that we are exposed to in everyday life, such as stress or improper nutrition, increase our body's need for antioxidants?
As a result of metabolic processes, as well as as a result of the influence of harmful external factors in the body, extremely reactive molecules called free radicals are formed. Free radicals damage the cell membrane, destroy DNA molecules, and are the main cause of the physical symptoms of aging. Free radicals promote lung and heart disease and the development of cancer. Scientific research has shown that substances called antioxidants are an effective defense against free radicals. By combining with free radicals, they neutralize them and prevent their harmful effects on the body. The most important and effective antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene and selenium. A similar effect is also demonstrated by: coenzyme Q10, zinc, Ginkgo biloba, linolenic acid, L-cysteine, L-glutathione, superoxide dismutase, etc.).
A healthy body produces enough antioxidants to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals. The ability to produce antioxidants depends on the genetic predisposition of the organism, age and diet. Exhausted by disease, an older or improperly nourished body produces less antioxidants and thus less defends itself against free radicals. Some civilization factors have a similar negative impact: increased pace of life, air pollution (cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes), chemical preservatives of food and drinking water, stress, radiation from television and computers, etc. Therefore, proper nutrition is necessary to ensure the daily supply of the body with the necessary dose of antioxidants.

Increased antioxidant protection
Mega qProtect is a high quality formula developed specifically for increasing antioxidant protection. The main ingredients of the formula are different plant extracts (Ginkgo biloba, green tea, and bilberry) that are known for their antioxidant properties and many other vitamins and trace elements, to support our health. It also contains vitamins and trace elements, which further enhance its antioxidant effect, and support our health. Mega qProtect is a unique, high quality formula developed specifically for boosting antioxidant protection, whose carefully selected ingredients effectively support the healthy functioning of our body.
Many scientists believe that the root cause of aging, or at least a contributing factor, is the damage caused to the cells of our bodies by highly unstable and reactive atoms known as free radicals. Normally, electrons surrounding the nucleus of an atom are in pairs. Oxidative processes in our body, such as converting food to energy, causes some of these atoms to lose an electron, turning them into free radicals…that is, an atom with an upaired electron in its outer ring. As electrons have a strong bias to exist in pairs, rather than singly, the free radical will steal the electron it needs from another normal atom, turning the normal atom into a free radical, and starting a chain reaction of free radical formation.
The lipids that make up cell membranes, and DNA inside the mitochondria of cells appear to be susceptible to contributing to this chain reaction, which, over time can cause impairments in cell function. If enough damage is cause, the cell can die.
Antioxidants
Antioxidants are substances that are able to slow down or break the chain reaction of free radical formation, by their ability to donate a single electron to a free radical without becoming unstable themselves. This group of substances include Vitamin A (Retinol, Beta Carotene), Vitamin C, Vitamin E (Tocopherol), Lycopene, and Ubiquinone (CoQ10). As well, flavanoids and polyphenols, rich in plant species such as Ginko biloba, green tea, and blueberries, have exhibited strong anti-oxidative properties.
Other substances which have shown ant-oxidant properties, or help support the antioxidative process includes L-cysteine, L-gluthionine, alpha lipoic acid, and the trace elements selenium, zinc and manganese.
Plant extracts
Gingko biloba is a special plant. It has a powerful antioxidant effect, its flavonoids support the normal functioning of the circulatory system and proper blood flow, providing oxygen and nutrient supply to cells, helping preserve physical-mental alertness. Green tea contains significant amounts of caffeine, which increases the speed of metabolic processes, and helps maintain alertness. It is rich in polyphenols of antioxidant.
Japanese ginkgo
Japanese ginkgo improves memory, blood supply to the brain, has anti-depressant, anxiolytic and anti-migraine properties. It can be effectively used in asthma, allergies, Alzheimer's disease, and diseases of the heart and peripheral circulation. It reduces the aggregation (sticking) of platelets, thus stopping the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels. It lowers high blood pressure, while too low it increases blood pressure, playing the role of a regulator in this respect. It soothes the symptoms of liver and kidney diseases, various inflammations, impotence, tinnitus, deterioration of hearing in old age (presbiacusia), visual disturbances, dizziness (vertigo) and hemorrhoids. It supports the use of glucose in the body, so it is also used with good effect by people with diabetes. Since it generally improves blood circulation in the body, it can alleviate the unpleasant symptoms of aging by increasing working capacity, speeding up wound healing (useful in convalescence after phlebitis). Herb expert Amanda McQuade has done a lot of research, primarily in people suffering from mental disorders related to old age. After eight weeks of treatment with preparations with ginkgo extract, their condition improved significantly, and there were no side symptoms or addiction syndromes. In younger patients, a single dose of 600 mg significantly improved memory without causing any side effects. It has been proven that the most effective standardized Ginkgo biloba, containing 24% flavonoglycosides. In the best preparations, 10% of these compounds is quercetin.Other ingredients of the preparation
Green tea is a source of caffeine, which increases the speed of metabolic processes and helps maintain proper reflexes. Moreover, it is rich in polyphenols with antioxidant properties. Blueberry is a rich source of antioxidant anthocyanins and some vitamins. L-cysteine, L-glutathione and alpha-lipoic acid are the ingredients of the product, which also have strong antioxidant properties.
Each of the antioxidants - vitamin C, beta carotene or selenium - improves our health, and experience shows that their action is more effective when taken together.
A ten-year American medical experiment showed that men who regularly took beta carotene experienced half as many cases of heart disease and prostate cancer as a control group that did not receive beta carotene. The observations show that Japanese and Norwegians whose meals contain a lot of beta-carotene are much less likely to develop lung, prostate, cervical or breast cancer.
Mega qProtect active ingredients
Beta-carotene
Beta-carotene is a provitamin Vitamin A, which means that the body - accordance with its needs in the liver it is converted into vitamin A. Vitamin A affects the normal function of the eye, protects against respiratory infections, maintain healthy skin, hair, teeth and gums .
Vitamin C
Vitamin C strengthens the immune system, increases the production of interferon, reduces the effects of stress, protects against carcinogens, reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood.
Selenium
Selenium, like vitamin E, slows the aging of tissues. Together are more potent than separately, which means that they have so called synergistic effect. Selenium neutralizes the effects of some carcinogenic substances may protect against some cancers. Relieves the symptoms of menopause. Men need more selenium in their bodies because it focuses on the testes and is eliminated along with the sperm.
Ginkgo biloba
Japanese Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is the oldest tree on earth. It is long-lived, some specimens can live about 1000 years. Already in ancient times in China used its leaves and seeds for the treatment of asthma, bronchitis and lung disease, as well as to improve peripheral circulation and blood supply to the brain. Today science appreciates many benefits of ginkgo, both preventive and curative. Extract from the leaves of the tree is one of the most common drugs of natural origin used in Europe. In Germany alone in 1988, doctors prescribed more than 5 million prescriptions for ginkgo preparations. In the leaves of ginkgo many unique active substance were detected. Each of them acts on the body in a different way. That's why the therapeutic effect of Ginkgo is so wide. The largest group contained in the leaves of ginkgo are flavone glycosides (kaempferol, quercetin, izoramnetyna) and terpenoids (bilobalide and ginkgolides A, B, C), which complement each other's action. In addition, in this plant there are proanthocyanidins, lignans, essential oils, tannins and many other less known active substances.Japanese Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is the oldest tree on earth.
